I started with sim racing while studying mechanical engineering. During my studies I bought a bone stock G37 with the long term plan of daily driving and tracking it. I only attended a few track days during schooling, but after receiving my master’s degree, I began applying any knowledge I gained to the car to make it the best track car possible. I also began having the budget to get the car on the track more frequently. We now hit the track about once a month and compete within Nissan Challenge. I’ve also updated the sim racing model of my car with every single change I make to the real life car, using real world data and balance comparison. Sometimes, I test the changes in the sim model first to see of the change is worth making.
